Reed diffusers are one of my favorite ways to make a space feel instantly welcoming. They’re low maintenance, elegant, and fill your home with scent all day long, no flame, no fuss.
But there are a few little tips to get the best out of them.
First, how many reeds should you use?
It depends on your space.
-
For smaller rooms like small bathrooms or a cozy nook, 3–4 reeds are more than enough.
-
For medium spaces like bedrooms or entryways, I usually go with 5–6 reeds.
-
And for larger rooms or open areas, feel free to use 7–10 reeds for a stronger scent throw.
The more reeds you use, the more fragrance is released—but also, the faster the oil will be used up. It’s all about balance.
To keep your scent fresh and vibrant, flip the reeds every few days (or at least once a week). Just turn them upside down to refresh the scent. I personally love doing this before guests arrive it gives the space a little boost.
And remember: keep your diffuser in a spot with good air circulation, but not directly next to a window or radiator the heat can make the oil evaporate too quickly.
Enjoy every breath,
